Make More Cookies Blog

Hi, I'm new to this web-site and have some questions.  1st, I love your cookie recipe. My question is... If I want to make a large batch of dough, cut out the cookies, can I freeze them unfrosted.  If so, what is the best way and for how long.  Also, should i refrigerate the cut out cookies before I bake them (I heard this stops them from bubbling, gives them a nice flat frosting surface)  Thanks so much for your help!

Carol,

Welcome to Make More Cookies, I hope you are enjoying my new recipes.

Baking larger batches of cookies sometimes makes life easier. Frosted cookies last about 3 months in the freezer. Unfrosted cookies will last from about 6 months to a year.

It is not necessary to refrigerate the cutout cookies before baking.

Enjoy.

Thanks Ann, next question is: can I stack them in a zip bag in the freezer? What is the best way to freeze them?

Carol,

You can store the cookies in an airtight container. You can layer them with wax or parchment paper if you choose to.
